Two Leadpages gotchas I found this month (and what they cost me)

Hi all — Robert, founder of Digital Booth. I build revenue infrastructure for founder-led businesses: intake, follow-up, onboarding, the systems that keep producing when the owner steps away. I rebuilt my whole site on Leadpages over the last few weeks. Two things bit me that I haven't seen discussed, so here they are before I say anything about myself. 1. DUPLICATED PAGES INHERIT THE SOURCE PAGE'S METADATA I duplicate pages constantly — it's the fastest way to keep a design system consistent. What I didn't realise is the copy silently keeps the original's route metadata: slug, title, description. My homepage was serving the title and description from my "About Robert" page. My newsletter page was serving data-slug="services" with the Services meta attached. Both looked correct in the builder. Both were wrong in the actual HTML. Anyone sharing my homepage got a preview card for a personal bio page. How to check: view source on a live page and look at the <title> and meta description. If they don't match what you set, you've got it. Leadpages support reproduced this for me, so it's a known behaviour, not something I broke. 2. GLOBAL INTEGRATIONS FIRE ON EVERY FORM, EVERYWHERE I was getting two confirmation emails from every single form submission. Two subscriber records, two emails, different copy. Turned out I had three Kit automations set to "All Pages" that I'd created long ago and forgotten. Every form on every page was double-writing. The page-level integrations were fine — the globals were firing on top of them. How to check: Dashboard → Integrations → Automations. Look at the scope column. Anything set to All Pages is running on forms you've never associated with it. Also worth knowing: deleting a popup in the builder doesn't remove it from the published HTML. It stays as a hidden block, and in one case on my blog page the content was still rendering. Worth a view-source check if you've retired old popups. — That's the useful part. Briefly on me: I'm in Canada, but operate here and in the US, I've been building this for a while, and I'm opening a small cohort in November for founders who want to install this stuff themselves rather than hire it out. Happy to answer anything about Leadpages + Kit + ManyChat wiring — it's most of what I've been doing lately, and I've broken it in enough ways to be useful.

Hi Robert, thanks for the detailed write-up, and good to hear the Kit duplicates are sorted. I completely understand how easy it was to accidentally set up two automations targeting the same page. We’ll work on improving the UI so that these things are easier to catch in the Automations page. Looking into the pop-up issue, it appears that when you ask the AI to remove your Classic pop-up, it was having trouble removing all of the code, even if the visible pop-up was completely removed. Logged, and we’ll make sure that our team fixes the root of that issue. Regarding the metadata issue, we’ll get a team member on that as well. And thanks for offering to field Leadpages, Kit and ManyChat questions. That's exactly the kind of experience this room is for. We appreciate you.
