The move is part of a broader shift toward brands building new ways to reach audiences through their own platforms and customer relationships. For marketers and agencies, it raises an interesting question: Are you seeing more brands build their own advertising ecosystems, and do you think these new channels offer something meaningfully different from traditional digital advertising? _ Inside McDonald’s new marketing model as it enters media network fray Marketing Dive, Chris Kelly https://www.marketingdive.com/news/inside-mcdonalds-new-marketing-model-as-it-enters-media-network-fray/831170/

'Screens in 450 restaurants instead of an inbox' made me laugh, but it's so true. Just shows that owning your audience works at any size.

An email list is the small business version of this. You own the audience, you decide what goes in front of them, and nobody changes the rules on you overnight. McDonald's just has screens in 450 restaurants instead of an inbox. Is anyone here selling sponsor spots in their own newsletter?
