Copyhackers ebook landing page example

What we like

First things first, the page just looks sleek and well-designed. While a beautiful landing page doesn’t always equal a quality ebook, if the creators spent a lot of time making the page perfect they probably put that same effort into their book.

One of the keys to a high-converting ebook landing page is a good headline, and Copyhackers nails it with this example. Don’t just reuse the title of your book. Instead, pinpoint the key benefit you’re offering or the problem you’re solving to tell people right away why they need your book. By analyzing different ebook landing page examples, you can gain insights into crafting compelling headlines and layouts that resonate with your audience.

As with all of the examples we’ve included, Copyhackers has also included a cover for their book. Even though it’s a digital product, you still need a cover to make the book more tangible. It also helps increase value and makes it appear as more than just a PDF download.

Health 365 ebook landing page example

If you’re unsure how you want your ebook landing page to look, stick to a clean and simple design like this example. Lots of white space with a few splashes of color is a surefire way to build an attractive page that’s easy to read.

A “what’s included” section is also great for letting readers know what to expect, even if it’s just a quick summary like Health 365 uses here. They even tease you with the promise of a “healthy treat or two” which gives you even more incentive to download the book.

Coach MD ebook landing page example

Coach MD ebook landing page example

Here’s another example of a simple but effective design. Right away you’re hit with all the benefits you receive by reading the book. Coach MD does a great job of not just telling you what’s inside, but also why you should want to learn the information in the book.

When creating your ebook landing page, don’t be afraid to talk yourself up a bit. There’s no need to go overboard, but do let people know why you’re qualified to give advice on your chosen topic. Coach MD quickly sums up their credentials on the page. It’s brief, but it’s enough to give them some credibility.

Finally, do you notice how they add some urgency to their headline? Letting visitors know that the book is only available for a limited time makes them more likely to pick it up now. Just remember, be honest and only use this tactic if there’s actually a time limit on the offer.

Hip2Keto ebook landing page example

A splash of color is an excellent way to get people’s attention, and Hip2Keto certainly accomplishes that with this page. The yellow really jumps off the page, but the design is still fairly minimalistic so it’s not too overwhelming.

Hip2Keto also excels at dispelling any potential objections. They know people think keto diets are hard, so they tell people right away it’s actually easier than they think. They even give a preview of some of the delicious treats in their cookbook further down to show people they aren’t going to have to give up their favorite foods.

One more thing to note is the pop-up form that’s utilized on the page. It not only offers a cleaner look, it can also yield better results. Once the form is opened, people feel committed and they’re more likely to follow through and download the book.

Kerwin Rae ebook landing page example

The first thing you notice about this page is the video sales pitch. Kerwin doesn’t just type out why you should get his book—he tells you himself. Not everyone has the patience to read a whole landing page, so including a video is a great way to deliver your message to those with a shorter attention span.

This is also another example of a strong headline. If you have an audience who wants to get to where you are, telling them “this is how I…” will immediately get their attention and make them want to download your book.

Finally, take notice of Kerwin's CTA. See how it utilizes the first person? Studies show that using words like “I” and “my” in your CTA can increase conversions by 90%.

Hand in Hand ebook landing page example

If you have a really good testimonial and you’re wondering where to put it on your page, consider using it for your headline. That’s what Hand In Hand does with their ebook landing page and it tells visitors right away why they should download this book ASAP.

You’ll also notice the page is very short and to the point. If you’re giving your book away for free, you generally don’t need a big sales pitch since your offer is virtually risk-free. Just tell people what they’ll get and why they should want it, and then make it easy for them to download it.

RP’s ebook landing page is effective for a couple of reasons. First off, the logo, colors, and overall feel of the page completely match the rest of the website. This creates a seamless experience as visitors move through the sales funnel.

They’ve also included an author bio on the page. This helps build their authority and shows they have the experience to back up their claims. The bio details their expertise and qualifications, which makes visitors confident that the book will live up to its promises.

The Young Writer ebook landing page example

This landing page takes the ebook cover to another level by also including a look inside. If your book contains images, graphics, and a fancy layout this is a great tactic, as it shows off just how much value you’re providing.

We talked about the importance of an author bio in our last example. Well, this book has a multitude of contributing authors, and the page supplies bios for nine of them. Studying various ebook landing page examples helps you understand how to balance information and maintain reader engagement effectively. Instead, it just adds to the credibility and authority of the book.

Shake Up Learning ebook landing page example

What we like

The key to any good ebook landing page is to capture the essence of your book in as few words as possible. You want to let people know why it’s worth reading but you don’t want to give away too much. Shake Up Learning’s book summary balances that line perfectly and does a great job of making you want to click the download button.

You’ll also notice that in the “What’s Inside” section, the various topics covered are referred to as “secrets.” This lets visitors know this knowledge is hard to come by and maybe even exclusive to this book.

Finally, the social share buttons make it easy for anyone who likes the page or the book to share it with their friends.

RP Emery ebook landing page example

What we like

This ebook deals with a very painful subject, and the landing page does a good job of highlighting that early on. As visitors start reading the copy, they identify with the pain and hardship that’s being discussed. After accurately describing what the reader is going through, the landing page offers a solution. This tactic of highlighting a problem and then offering a solution is a good template to follow for any ebook landing page.

Of course, if you want to convince people your book will solve their problems you’re going to need to offer some proof. RP Emery’s landing page does this by providing a number of glowing reviews. You can talk all you want about how great your book is, but third-party testimonials will always hold more weight with your audience, so include them whenever you can.

Steps to build an ebook landing page

Ready to create your own ebook landing page? Leadpages makes it easy for anyone to build a high-converting page (even if you’re a complete beginner with no web design experience).

Choose a template

There’s no need to start from scratch—our design team has done the hard work for you and created over 250 templates for you to choose from. You can organize templates by type, industry (author for example), and even conversion rate to find the one that fits your brand and book the best.

Customize your look

Every Leadpages template is completely customizable, so feel free to make it your own. With the Drag & Drop Builder you can add images, edit text, change colors, add and remove sections, and more. Best of all, there’s no coding required. Just drag and drop elements into place and then click to edit them.

Create your thank you page

In addition to your landing page, you’ll also need a thank you page. This is where visitors are sent after they’ve agreed to download your book. Not only is this page important for expressing your gratitude, but it also gives you a chance to provide instructions on how users can access the book. Which leads us to the next step…

Decide how you’re going to deliver your book

When it comes to ebooks you have two options for delivery: a download link on your thank you page or send it via email. There are pros and cons to each method.

A download link is certainly the most convenient option for users. However, if the goal of your book is to build a relationship with leads through email then you’re missing out on an opportunity to introduce yourself. This is why a lot of authors opt for email delivery. Or you can do both and offer a download link while also sending it to them via email.

Publish your page

When you’re ready to share your page with your audience simply hit the “publish” button. You can either publish your page to a Leadpages subdomain or your own custom domain (learn how to get a free custom domain with Hover).

Drive traffic

Once you’re page is up and running it’s time to let the world know. Here are a few ways to drive traffic to your ebook landing page:

  • Optimize your page for search engines by targeting specific keywords. Just keep in mind that it can take time to see results.
  • Share your book and landing page on your social media channels.
  • Launch a paid ad campaign. This is the best way to drive traffic to a new landing page (if your budget allows for it).

7 keys to a high-converting ebook landing page

Want a quick guide to ebook landing pages? Here are the seven most important things to remember when building your page.

7 keys to an effective ebook landing page

1. Use an attention-grabbing headline

Your headline is likely the first thing people will read when they land on the page. If it’s too vague or not interesting visitors will likely click away, so you need to make it count.

A good headline is:

  • Clear
  • Specific
  • Benefit-rich
  • Relevant to your topic or audience

Zero in on the single most important benefit your book will provide and build your headline around that. If you’re not sure what headline will work best, consider running an A/B test to figure out what your audience responds to the most.

2. Create an intriguing book cover

We’ve all heard the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover,” and yet we all do it anyways—and ebooks are no different.

Whether your book is just a quick 5,000-word read or a multi-chapter guide, create a cover that’s worthy of being displayed at a bookstore. An attractive and professional cover adds to its credibility and will certainly help your downloads.

If you're not a designer consider hiring a freelancer to design something for you. Fiverr has plenty of designers that can help you create the perfect cover for your book.

3. Create a clean and attractive page design

Remember, an ebook landing page has one goal: to get users to download your book. So, you want to remove any unnecessary design elements that might distract from that objective.

The best ebook landing page designs are simple, clean, and uncluttered. Color is great, but don’t go overboard and ensure there’s still plenty of whitespace to maximize readability.

When in doubt, stick to a “less is more” mentality.

4. Make sure your landing page is mobile-friendly

More and more people are accessing the internet with mobile devices. So much so that mobile users now make up over half of all web traffic. Because of this, you’ll want to make sure your ebook landing page is optimized for smartphones and tablets.

The easiest way to do this is to choose a landing page template that’s mobile-friendly. For example, all of Leadpages’ templates use a responsive design and display perfectly on every device. The Leadpages Drag & Drop Builder also allows you to preview your page on smartphones and tablets to ensure it’s displaying exactly how you want it to.

5. Use benefit-driven copy

When you’re writing your copy, always tell visitors what they’ll get from reading your book and why they should want it.

Don’t just say what topics you’ll cover—tell them why those topics are important. Don’t just let them know a secret you’ll reveal in your book—let them know how that secret will change their life.

If those benefits align with your audience’s needs you’re sure to get a lot of downloads.

6. Make your ebook easy to download

If you want people to download your ebook, you need to make it as easy as possible. This means reducing the number of fields in your download form, avoiding sending people to another page or site if possible, and offering a quick and seamless checkout if you plan on selling your book.

The fewer steps required to download your book, the more people will complete the process, which means more leads and sales for your business.

7. Include testimonials and other forms of social proof

As you saw from our examples, social proof is an important part of a high-converting ebook landing page. This often comes in the form of customer reviews, but there are other ways to include social proof on your page.

You can display logos of any publications you’ve been featured in or companies you’ve worked with. You can also highlight any awards you’ve won. Even showing how many social shares or likes you’ve gained can help back up your claims and add some legitimacy to your book.
