Hey, Ryan here, VP of Marketing at Leadpages. We have a new product update to discuss and I want to give you the lowdown on this one myself.

As marketers, we live in a fast-paced world where efficiency is everything. The ability to launch, test, and iterate quickly is the difference between campaigns that soar and those that never get off the ground. That’s why I’m excited to announce our latest update at Leadpages: Global scripts.

What is global scripts?

Simply put, Global Scripts allows you to add your tracking codes once and have them automatically applied to all of your Leadpages content—whether it’s a landing page, pop-up, or full website. This means you no longer have to go into each individual page to paste code or make updates.

The manual process of adding these scripts to every landing page, site, and pop-up is tedious, error-prone, and far from efficient. But now one entry is all it takes to apply your scripts across the board.

Get more out of your digital marketing with analytics

Okay, so that’s all well and good—but why should you add tracking codes and monitor analytics for your pages? Well, a lot of reasons, but here are my five big ones:

1. Optimize Your Pages for Conversions

When I’m looking to maximize the performance of my landing pages, analytics are my most powerful tool. By tracking the behavior of visitors, I can optimize key elements like headlines, images, and CTAs.

Take calls-to-action, for example. There have been several times when analytics revealed a certain CTA was performing better than the others. I applied this insight to all my campaigns moving forward and saw an immediate jump in conversion rates.

2. Gain Valuable Audience Insights

I always want to speak my audience’s language, and analytics makes it a lot easier. By leveraging analytics, I gain a clear view of my visitors' age, location, and interests. This information helps me better understand who’s interacting with our brand, allowing me to craft targeted, personalized marketing strategies.

Whether it’s adjusting your messaging or choosing the right platforms for your ad campaigns, knowing your audience is the first step in speaking directly to them and getting their attention.

3. Track Your Ad Campaigns’ ROI

If you’re running paid ads like we do, it’s important to remember that tracking doesn’t stop once someone clicks on your ad. I’m constantly monitoring engagement and conversion rates on my landing pages to calculate the return on investment (ROI) of my campaigns.

For example, there was a particular ad that wasn’t performing to my expectations. When I dove into the analytics, it turns out the ad was driving lots of traffic but the landing page wasn’t converting. So, I adjusted the landing page to better deliver on the promise of the ad. Lo and behold, conversions jumped up.

4. Know where your customers are coming from

When we run campaigns they’re across multiple channels. So, I need to know which channels are driving the most traffic and conversions—analytics let me see that. This clarity helps me make smarter decisions about where to allocate my budget and focus my efforts.

By understanding which channels yield the highest ROI, you can prioritize what works and cut back on what's underperforming.

5. Map your customer’s journey

Finally, analytics give me valuable insights into how our visitors navigate our site after they land on a page. By tracking user flow, I can see the paths people take, from my landing page to other parts of our website, like product pages or blogs. This helps me understand whether my landing page is guiding visitors in the right direction or if there are roadblocks causing them to drop off.

With this information, you can refine your navigation and calls to action to create a smoother, more intuitive journey that leads to higher conversions and a better overall experience for your audience.
