Stop Rebuilding the Same Thing: Components, Shared Headers and Footers, Saved Sections, and Scripts & Pixels

The first page in a site is the fun one. By the fifth, you're rebuilding the same header, pasting the same FAQ, and re-adding the same pixel, and every one of those is a place where two pages quietly drift apart.

These four features exist so you do that work once. Components let you reuse content inside the editor. Site Components keep your header, footer, and 404 page consistent across a whole site. Saved sections give you a library of blocks you've already built. Scripts & Pixels puts your tracking in one place. None of them change how you build a page; they cut down how often you build the same one.

How it works, in four parts

01: Components, in the page editor

Components are reusable elements you add to a page straight from the editor. They suit content you reach for often: a map embed, a Spotify embed, a photo gallery. Open a page, click the Add icon in the bottom toolbar, then choose Components, or describe a new one through Describe.

Every new component is independent by default. Edit it on one page and that edit stays on that page. To make one reusable, click the save icon in the component's title tag and give it a name. It then appears under Add, Components, Saved.

When you drop a saved component onto another page it starts as an independent copy, with the option to link it to the original. Linked copies update together. Unlinked copies stay on their own. In the Saved tab, Manage component edits the saved version itself, and those changes reach every page where the component's linked. The same menu lets you restyle the component with AI, rename it, and see which pages it's on. On the page, click the component and open the Settings tab on the right to adjust it, remove it, or switch it between independent and linked.

02: Site Components for headers, footers, and 404 pages

Go to Sites, open a site, and scroll to Site Components. This is where the pieces that appear on every page live: your header, your footer, and your 404 page. Change the menu here once and it changes everywhere, instead of page by page. When a default header or footer is set, any new page you create in that site takes it on.

Tabs switch between Headers, Footers, and 404. The one marked Default is what your whole site's using. Click Edit in page to make changes, and use the Add panel to swap between different headers and footers.

03: Saved sections

Built an FAQ or a pricing table you want again? Click the section on the canvas, then the save icon in its title tag. Name it and choose a category, either one of the defaults or a new one you create.

To reuse it, open the Add to page panel and click Saved sections. Sections are grouped by type, such as FAQ or Pricing, and anything without a category sits in Uncategorized. Search for what you need or collapse the groups, then click a section to drop it onto the page. What lands is that page's own copy, so you can change it without touching the other pages that use the same section.

04: Scripts & Pixels

In the sidebar, scroll to Manage and click Scripts & Pixels. This is where tracking codes from other tools go: the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager. They let you track visitors, run retargeting ads, and measure results outside Leadpages.

For each script you can see its type, where it applies, whether it goes in the head of the page, and whether it's active. A toggle turns it on or off, and you can edit or delete it. You can also reach your scripts from the editor: click the three dots at the top and choose Scripts & Pixels. Add a new script there, or click Manage all scripts to jump to the full page.

Why we built it

One page is quick. A site is a set of pages that need to agree with each other, and every menu, footer, and pixel you re-add by hand is another chance for one of them to fall out of step. The more pages you build, the more of your time goes to repeat work instead of the page itself. These features move that work to one place: build the piece once, then reuse it, and decide per piece whether copies stay independent or update together.

What stays in your hands

Whether a component is linked. New components and newly added saved components are independent by default. Linking to the original is a choice you make, and one you can change from the Settings tab.

What counts as a default. The header or footer marked Default is the one new pages in the site pick up. You set it, and you can swap it through the Add panel.

Your saved sections. A saved section added to a page is that page's copy. Editing it there changes nothing elsewhere.

Which scripts run. Every script has its own toggle. Turn one off without deleting it, or delete it outright.

Common questions

If I edit a component on one page, does it change on other pages? Not by default. Components are independent unless you save one and link copies of it to the original. Linked copies update together; unlinked copies don't.

How do I update a saved component everywhere it's linked? In the Saved tab, choose Manage component. Changes made there affect every page where the component's linked.

Do new pages get my header and footer automatically? Yes, when a default header or footer is in place for the site. Any new page you create in that site takes it on.

Where do saved sections without a category go? Into Uncategorized in the Saved sections panel. You can search or collapse groups to find what you need.

Can I add a tracking script without leaving the editor? Yes. Click the three dots at the top of the editor and choose Scripts & Pixels. You can add a script there or click Manage all scripts for the full list.

Where do I go if I get stuck? Click your name at the bottom and hit Support.
